Through Artists' Eyes: Norwalk People and Places in the WPA Murals

NPT’s fourth Living History Tour focused on Norwalk’s Works Progress Administration (WPA) murals. Many of the artists were Norwalk residents themselves, not to mention the people they used as models and painted into the pictures. The tour brought life to the people, scenes, and events portrayed in the paintings. Tableaux were staged at the scene of two of the WPA paintings, Roadside Stand and Calf Pasture Beach, along with a presentation on the oyster industry in Norwalk Harbor at the site of Oyster Houses.
