Made in Norwalk: Our Industrial Past Reborn

NPT’s tenth Living History Tour explored the architectural practice of “adaptive reuse,” whereby existing historic structures are preserved and repurposed. Hats, textiles, pottery, corsets and dozens of other products were part of the rich history of industrial manufacturing in Norwalk. The tour visited successful examples of adaptive reuse, illustrating how surviving factory buildings can be transformed into vibrant residential, commercial, and community spaces.
