LIVING HISTORY TOUR
Houses of Change: Norwalk's Early Victorian Period
Sunday, October 13
With last year’s Living History tour, NPT documented changes to Norwalk’s surviving factory buildings as they were adapted for reuse. This year’s tour will also explore architectural adaptation and change, in and around Norwalk’s early Victorian (ca. 1860 to 1880) houses and neighborhoods.
Restorations and renovations can and should be done with sensitivity to traditional building methods and materials. Helping you to “get your house right” is part of our mission. The Second Empire house pictured above is a fine example of this balance. It is featured in a “virtual tour” video we created with the homeowners, which will premiere at the reception following the tour.
Noon to 4 PM, including a three-hour bus tour and a reception afterwards. Tickets are $75. There are no member discounts, but you can support us and become a member when you buy your ticket(s). All NPT memberships are fully tax-deductible.
